This post is about my life way before cows, turtles, and rabbits. Whoops I promised myself I wouldn't mention them. This is in the 60's or 70's when I worked part time at Sears as a PBX operator. I was trying to learn to sew and made this dress to wear to work. The time was when pant suits had come into fashion in a big way but the chief operator had put a sign on the switchboard that she didn't want any of her employees to come in dressed like a cotton picker. (she should see me now), in other words she didn't want any of her four or five part time girls wearing anything but a dress, dress shoes, and hose in spite of the fact we worked in a small room in the warehouse. No one saw us unless we went to the snack bar or walked through the carpet department to the rest room.

oh, look at you all gussied up! i hate dresses...and hose! eek!
Isn't it funny when you think back or find an old picture of years gone by and you can hardly believe you ever did those things. I worked in a camera store for 2 years before Marty's dad died. I could' nt work with the public for a quite a while. Have never quite figured out why.
You look good! Weird boss.
Helen
I 'knowed' it, you have always been good looking!
I like to quote my sister Shirl, "Hey, we weren't born this old!"
There was plenty of bosses like that, men and women back then! (smile) I hear. LOL
I wore a long ankle length dress the other day thinking it would keep me cooler than shorts...HA!! Not so, not so. My fat thighs rubbed raw with the heat. So, back to shorts for me.
You look so a professional. And you MADE this dress?!! High five.
Dresses... I don't believe I own any now, there was a time when I didn't own anything but! I like that times have changed!
Very pretty - and you know times have changed - we used to dress nice like that!
That's a beautiful photo of you. My mother hated sewing, but she used to make a lot of her own clothes when I was very young. I remember her buying dress patterns, and then coming home and struggling endlessly with the sewing machine.
A young, very generously proportioned girl in front of me in line this morning had her underwear hanging out of the top of her tight jeans & all that still did not cover her ample butt. I'd have LOVED to have seen her in this dress instead. Maybe there IS something to the whole dress code thing.
You look lovely.
I like to see workers dressed neatly. This is a very pretty picture!
Pretty dress. Nice color.
cotton picker = lol
