We saw this gate to a ranch owned by a football player on our way to John's class get together at Karnes city! Texas. JOhn can't remember which player it is. Only six at the get together, but lots of memories discussed and food, of course. Y0u would know we took the back roads.

Sorry it doesn't show off, it's the Touchdown ranch and I think there were goal poles sticking up. I was afraid to stand in the middle of the highway with big oil field trucks coming and going.
i tried to zoom it but it wouldn't go on my laptop, but glad you could explain it!
Nice gate. Glad you enjoyed the get together.
It's always a lot more fun to take the interesting back roads.
I could read "Touchdown Ranch" without zooming in.
We all love it when you take to the back roads. You never fail to find something.
BTW I like the mama and twins in the header shot.
Even small classes get smaller with the years..
Hugs from Maine, next home, Mass..
A small gathering is better in my opinion. And good food to go along with it all makes it all the more better.
I too take the back roads if I'm driving.
Well, it's Monday morning, but you know me...a day late and a dollar short. I wanted to be one of the first to wish you a Happy Birthday!

Hi Paula. Have to agree with the rest that driving backroads is the way to do it. We traveled to TN recently for vacation and came back on back roads. So beautiful in the mountain areas of the Shanandoah, etc. We went to Cookeville TN (husband used to live there for a time) and he showed me where a big time producer supposedly lives. Did not know the guys name but jeez I told him he'd have to have a helicopter to land in that place, lol. It was so backwoods! Whoa. Beautiful though ... if you like the woods.
A very late Happy Birthday. I have to get back to a different blog. My brain is tired of figuring out where to go.
