Down At The Ranch

Most of the cactus is still standing tall, but it sure doesn't look healthy. We ran upon a javelina today The first we've seen in along while. They aren't the same as the wild hogs we used to trap. We saw a large flock of turkey's, probably on their way to the stock tank for a drink of water. The Cardinals were plentiful and busy this week. One of the hunters called today to say he is ready to close the gate on the back forty for hunting. He wasn't happy he had caught the new feisty bull knocking his deer feeder to the ground while stealing deer corn. He said Big Boy never did that. We've had summer like weather but the clouds made it more comfortable today.

Yeah? Well I guess the younger dude wants that corn and planned to get it. He ain't worried about mr. Hunter's deer. haha.
It is hard to believe it is hunting season again already. That used to be on my calendar for Thanksgiving, but not any more...
Get one of 'em turkeys for Thanksgiving. I know you want to boil it and pluck it, clean and burn the (what ever mama used to singe.) haha.,
Glad to hear from the Ranch, but wish you had some rain....

...we have a cactus in our mail box planter and it too doesn't look so good...kinda 'shriveled'.

Lucky you...we haven't seen many cardinals in our area like there should be. Guess they're up your way.

Sounds like there's lots of goings'on wildlife-wise in your neck of the woods :)
