After feeding the cattle this morning we headed west to Frio county to check out a piece of property that may go up for sale at auction. On the way we saw this country fence brace and it wasn't the only one. Nicest fence brace iv'e ever seen, looks like a gate. We drove 60 miles on country roads hearing John's narration of the places he has farmed and who lived where and who drove off in a flooded creek and drowned. Who was a gambler and didn't come home for days when he was on a gambling spree. Nice drive in a real country area where we haven't traveled in a while.

wow! that's pretty! gonna save this and link it in next thursday for good fences! :)
I like the shot also. I bet I could enjoy John's stories, and yep there has to be a lot of them.
Love from Florida...
I LIKE it VERY much!!!
And now, you have me humming Kenny Rogers' song..."You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em"!!!
Lovely shot. It's nice to just ride and hear old stories.
I miss drives like that! Thank you for sharing yours with us!
I don't know what a fence brace is. But I LOVE it. Looks very nice.
It is very pretty! I enjoy a ride in the country, so much to see! Great fence scene! Enjoy your day!
I's attractive! I would have stopped to take a photo too.
that's a cute little gate!
I'm not sure what a fence brace is - but I like it!
Nice fence brace! And fun to hear the history behind the places, I bet. My dad used to do that whenever we'd go anywhere. That's so-and-so's place. He married a Hanson girl, etc. etc. :-)
so fancy. i love the cows below your post. too cute.
nice meeting ya through Good Fences. have a great day! ( :
I surely would have called that a gate. I didn't know that fences had braces. You just never know when you are going to learn something new.
Very unusual!
Love the wheel in the middle of this fence.
Such an unusual fence! I like it. The storytelling reminds me of when I used to take my elderly father out for drives in the country and he would tell me stories about each farm. He seemed to have known everyone and it was fun to hear about them.
That is neat looking. I like the wheel in the middle. I bet it was fun to listen to those stories too.
A beautiful scene.
Wow!
Peace :)
Great fence. I enjoyed visiting. I love your Texas blog. I am a neighbor in DFW.
Have a great weekend.
