We call this plant A Digger. I think we've discussed it's proper name here before. It is usually the first thing to bloom in my yard in early spring. I couldn't believe when I saw the big white bloom. Several years ago I dug it up in a gate way at the ranch. It was only a foot tall. It has grown so much without care, but after all it is a native plant. There is a lot of these on the east side of the ranch, but none of them are blooming.

Those candelabras are stunning too!!
Some of these cactus are the most incredibly resilient plants! Even if they get a burn from the frost, they come back with a vengeance.
Very interesting looking plant, indeed. I like it.
