Actually these buzzards are waiting for us to leave so they can continue their brunch. When we spot these guys we start counting cows. John was quite upset to find a large calf dead. Wasn't able to figure out what happened to it. When you have cattle it happens at times.

So sad about the young calf. I remember what a loss it was in the farming days to lose an animal for whatever reason, often unknown. Those buzzards are such a common site in Texas with all the wild life.
Yes, life and death on a farm or ranch is a common occurrence. Today, with the prices livestock can bring, it's a big economic loss.
yes, that's part of it, for sure. love the shot, though.
A bad lost, but as you said it goes along with farming or ranching.
oh no. That's so sad; I'm sorry. :(
Sad about the calf. I'd be scared of those big old buzzards.
Ah, it must be hard to lose a calf, in many ways.
Life continues.....
Sorry about the calf, poor thing. Great capture of the vultures..
A vulture fence! Not something I've seen before.

Well I think it's neat to see vultures because I they aren't a familiar bird in our area. However I think it's sad that you lost a calf.
Sad about the dead cow, but these buzzards do make great fence "ornaments."
Pity about the calf
