Why Burn The Trees?

All the way to the top. How many years did it take to grow these trees? Did they get tired trimming or cleaning up ? Is the city trying to get rid of them to widen the street? That's what happened near my house in San Antonio. Beautiful old trees cut to the ground. Strange to me, how did they get them to burn all the way to the top?

I can't imagine. Can you call City hall or whatever and ask? I would think that could be dangerous. Is it their way of grooming them?

I hate to see trees cut down for any reason. Especially ones as pretty as those.

In Colorado, they sometimes had controlled burnings of pine trees in the forests to promote healthier growth in the coming years...but this? In the city...I haven't any idea. That is a sad sight. Palm trees are so calming to see.
