Personal Mystery

I've said before I don't consider myself nosy, just very curious, and I might add interested. I have passed a house in my neighborhood several times a week for years and something perks my interest in the back of this house. I have ask John about it but he claims to not know anything and doesn't seem interested. I do know the man who lived there died a few years ago and the house was never sold or rented out. However someone does keep every building on the lot painted white, even the cute gazebo in the front yard. The yard is mowed often enough and recently they seemed to be doing some major foundation work. The thing that puzzles me is why is there four white little houses in a row in the back. What were they used for, why did they have them there? Rentals, motels? I don't see how any one could sleep in them with no windows and no Air conditioning in the south Texas in summer. There are no pipes indicating a bathroom or vent for air. Storage? Why would anyone build four small buildings that look like small houses by the shape? Why not one larger building to store stuff in? I've thought smoke houses? Wouldn't that need to be vented? They don't look like smoke houses. They are neat little houses with no way to stand the heat we have. They look to be stucco, the roofs are all exactly alike and as I said no windows and I don't think there are any electric wires attached. Have any ideas? This is in a residential neighborhood so I don't want to trespass or stop and stare so I just look as much as I can as I pass.
