Cow Kisses

John had a nice Father's Day because he got to do something he has been wanting to do and it wasn't getting cow kisses. His son and daughter-in-law bought a large piece of land next to a lake. John has been dying to see it. I kind of wanted too also. It was hot out and the house is being remodeled for a week-end home so no air. A very large metal barn has big doors on each end with a big fan right inside the door but still hot inside so I decided the lesser of all the evils would be to ride the four wheeler with John and his son. We even rode on the tall, big, high lake dam so there was some breeze. We saw all their cows, the lake, the creek, the barn etc. Later when we stopped to feed a cow and go through a gate one cow came over and licked John's son on the side of the face. We saw pictures later of different cows licking him and the daughter-in-law on the side of the face. She is quite the cow person and has them all tame with her quiet calm voice. I wrote here once about her being out of town on her job and their cows got out on the road at a different place. The son was trying to get them back in  without her so he called her on the phone and she talked to them and called them as he held the phone out the window so they could hear her voice. In short order they were back where they belonged.

The cow whisperer, how cool is that? Those cows must really love her.

Can't imagine no A/C with these temperatures we've been having. A Happy Father's Day to John! I think that little trip must have been preferable. :)

What a sweet story about the cows and her soothing voice. She's a cow whisperer for sure. Sounds like a nice day out with family.

Glad John had a good Father's day. Sounded like a good day for all except for maybe the heat. Take care, Sheila

That is ONE amazing story how they worked the loose cattle back in. He was so clever.

I bet the newly acquired ranch will be wonderful any other time of year tho. HOT than blazes right now.
