Is This Strange ?????

I had just opened the front blind to let in a little light when I saw a man walk by it. Thinking it was the washer repairman I opened the door. He ask if I knew a certain woman. I guess I had a puzzled look on my face as he changed to a different last name which I recognized as a lady who lived a couple of houses down years ago. The only reason I had met her, she had a small business across town which I used a few times and in talking we realized we were almost neighbors. I pointed to the house where she lived but told him she had moved years ago to I thought a different town. He ask San Antonio and I said no. He said he was sorry to bother me. I watched him walk away in the cold (very cold here today). He walked all the way to the end of the street to a parking lot at the Senior apartments, got into a small car and sat there for maybe ten or fifteen minutes before driving off. We seldom have people knock at our door if we don't know them. No selling without a permit in our town etc. Just made me feel a little strange for him to walk that far in the cold and why did he pick this house to ask about her? Just seemed strange to me for some reason. I locked the door.

I guess, a little. He may have been working his way up the street, asking. Who knows, he may have lived near her before and wanted to "touch bases" as long as he was in the neighborhood. No need to go farther after you talked to him. It sounds sad to me.

Too much of that gong on everywhere. Best ting is just not talk to them. I have a peep hole in my door and if I do not recognize the person, I am not home. Can't be too careful.

Wow....recently a woman who broke her this? eerie.

I'm glad you're alright, Paula

did the washer repairman show up?

Yes the washer repairman showed up late. We're comfortable with him. He has a long and well known business here and I think it's fixed. I hesitated to write this because I was afraid people would not understand. It still does not feel right to me, guess you would have had to be here.

Oh yeah, things that are not easily explained do cause us to be leery. Good idea.

One wonders who and why, but in many cases never know the answer!

Now watchit!

Good thing you locked the door. You never know.

Maybe it isn't so great to even open the door if you don't know the person knocking, though when waiting for a repair man I can see the ease with which you did. Uhm, don't next time, ok? People can be pretty screwed up.
