I Jumped Out Of Bed

Well I jumped out of bed as fast as an 80 year old with health issues can jump. I put my Asics on . Running or walking shoes the doctor recommended John to wear. Store didn't have John's size so I bought some. I'm on my third pair. What do you think I was going to do? Run, walk, exercise? No! I'm going to make Salmon Patties and I did. They were done by 7:30. Why wear Asics you ask? Because if I have support under my legs early in the morning I can make the day much better. Why make them so early? For Breakfast? No, because John hates the smell of any kind of fish. So I prepare and cook and try to get the smell out of the house as soon as possible. Cut the onions, drain the salmon and get the juice out the back door for the cat who doesn't mind smelling fish at all. Stir an egg and mix some flour with water to make a paste so the salmon will stick together in patties. Heat my non stick pan with a little olive oil, wash my hands and start the patties. Fry and turn to brown. Humm good, thank goodness for Asics so I can stand in front of the stove. Patties are safely in a covered dish for a good snack any time of day and I bet John didn't notice a thing when he got up.

Oh, that sounds good! DH doesn't like the smell neither. That, or sardines, or sauerkraut ... I do try to eat the sardines when he's out of town. I must remember to have him pick up a can or two when he shops.

Sounds sooooooooo delicious. I love the smells/odors of fish. Any kind of fish. Now, I think I will make the salmon [I do it in a loaf shape] for dinner tonight. Along with a baked potato and salad.

Does John EAT the salmon patties?

PS....LOVE the longhorn photo in your post below this.

No Anni, John wouldn't eat any fish with a ten foot pole. When I have it, he eats a sandwich. I love tuna salad too.

That post made me hungry, even though I am full.😒 I do the same with tuna sometimes. Like to flip them in cornmeal before I put the patties in the pan.

Oh, that sounds good...I haven't had them in years. Roger hates salmon...in patties or otherwise.

You made me smile. Getting a head start on your day to get rid of the fish smell. I bet he was none the wiser too.

My buddy Sonny had to cook his salmon and eat his sardines in the garage because his wife couldn't stand the smell. LOL
