My grandma

Standing in front of her house with her hummingbird feeder (Honeysuckle) behind her. Her wash tub close by and her pot (chamber we called it). Looks like it has dirt in it so she must have a spare and planted something in it at one time. She was a quiet sweet woman and we went to see her most Sundays. The road was sandy and wash board so I would get car sick until mama let me ride up front. My most clear memory of her is one Sunday  I wanted English peas on my plate then didn't like them. I didn't want to eat them and mama was going to make me eat them and she told her not to make me eat them. If she could see how nice the road is paved now and how many people have moved in around the area she wouldn't believe it. My grandma, Lillian.

She looks like a sweet lady. I imagine you can shut your eyes and smell the honeysuckle. Grandmothers used to be very special people. I'm happy for you that you can remember her and the peas. :-) Every memory is so dear.

That is beautiful! What a nice memory. That picture of your grandmother looks a lot like one of one of my grandmothers.

A grandmother who lets you forgo the vegetables. Lots of kids would love that.

I love stories of the ELDERS, and as I get older the more I like them. I was talking today to a grandson about the world my parents and their parents came through. What a sweet tribute to Lillian. I remember very little of my grand parents since I was in mama and dad's second litter. LOL

Yes she and many more wold be astounded at the changes, the roads being a big one.

What a beautiful memory of your grandma being your champion! That photo reminds me of so many old family photos. It seems everyone used to take their photo either in front of a house or on or beside their car.

The coffee is always on in Caneyhead

When I see photos of older women of yesteryear, I always wish I could sit down and have a chat
with them. Oh, what wonderful stories they would tell. It makes me wonder what future generations
will have to say when they see our pictures. Great post.
