Headache?
We visit a herd of Longhorns every week and sometime more often. They live in a field just on the edge of town. John had a small herd of Longhorns along with his other cattle but he let them go with the large ranch he leased for 30 years. Sometime we spot one of them from the road but they would be old cows now. This herd that we visit have longer horns and they always make me glad I don't have to carry that rack around on my head. It's a good thing they are mild mannered with those horns. I never felt afraid of John's bunch but I was careful if they had any flies on their back because they would swirl their head around trying to rid themselves of the flies. They wouldn't hurt a person other then accidently.

I can't imagine having that amount of horn on my head. (My Lil Devil spikes don't weigh much) Would seem like quite the inconvenience to me.
I wonder if
the one with
the biggest horns
gets to be
the boss...
Since most kids were cowboys and cowgirls in my youth. I look back amazement that those longhorns were handled by folks on horseback. Now I am really proud of 'Rowdy Yates'. LOL Good picture!
WE have a lot of these in Texas. But when I am around them, keep my distance.
FANTASTIC image!!! I'd be visiting the herd often myself.
Oh, Pauline, you just answered a question I have had for ages...I have wondered forever about the temperament of the Long horned cattle.
i'd still be careful around them in case they suddenly have to move their heads. danger lurks.
