My Dream

A man wanted to sell a place with this little shack on it so John bought it for a very reasonable price. Even though it had a small pond in the back John had a big tank dug where the water run naturally when it rained. He had owned it a short time when he had a chance to sell and make a profit. I was so disappointed, I already had a little week-end place designed in my head. The shack is two rooms, a bedroom and kitchen. Big enough for a week-end get away. I could just see the porch repaired nicely with two rocking chairs, bird feeder near by. Pure quiet and peace. It was not that far from home and the roads were good except when we got on to the property, but that too could have been fixed. No bathroom, but couldn't we have used an outhouse just for week-ends?

Sorry about your dream. A combustible toilet would have worked in that situation. Not sure about laws on latrines anymore. It did sound like a neat place!

I do love your idea - - but it would probably be too much trouble to fix the place up. I know from experience....(*smile*)

Some things are not meant to be. Just enjoy your dreams.

For a while, I would have given anything to have had a room in our backyard to call my own and go to for quiet time...so I can really imagine your disappointment.

I adore your little dream weekend shack! We've done the outhouse/pee bucket thing many a weekend at bush lake or the deer camp.

That's a shame. I would love a little place like that. You used to see so many old places like this around where I am from, but, sadly, most of them have either fallen down completely or been torn down.
