Will The Maker Of Glue Traps Please Take A Bow

Now I was "called down" once before here for using inhumane sticky traps. I have only caught one mouse on one, but when I caught the largest Scorpion I have ever seen I thought if I had stepped on that bugger it would have been mighty inhumane. They hurt, especially when you put your full weight down on one. I have been fighting ants coming into my house this summer. Not sugar ants, not fire ants, or big red ants. I'm not sure what they are. They are between the size of red ants and sugar ants, medium size. They are very dark in color, almost black. When I find where they have been coming in near a window, I spray and clean up the next day. then put a couple of sticky traps in that area. Just for good measure I put one behind each toilet. Today when I went into the guest bathroom I noticed something black on the floor. Thinking I had dropped something behind the toilet I took a closer look. It was a very black glue trap. Humm I don't remember buying any black ones. They had red on them. When I picked it up it was completely covered with those ants. There wasn't room for one more to fit, they were coloring the entire trap making it black all over. I'll be heading to Walmart tomorrow, may just buy a case of glue traps.

Wow! What is the name brand of the traps? Who would have thought? I suppose they were trying to sacrifice themselves for safe passage of their friends. Way to go!

Sharon the name brand is Victor. Sometime Walmart doesn't have these and have another brand which the back is harder to peel off. I buy which ever they have at the time of need. We have so many bugs and insects here in south Texas because we have such small amount of cold weather.

Thanks, Paula, I'm being troubled with ants on the front porch, and they keep getting on Tacky's food. Then she won't eat it.

I get ants too.

I have seen those type traps, but not used them. We get little ants in the summer looking for water. Just spray and wipe up when dead.

Never worried about scorpions, but I hear from you and others 'they ain't no fun'. Funny how some folk look at things. They will accept about anyway to rid a place of insects and rodents, as long as they do not have to see it done. I use what ever means at my disposal. Sorta like killing a rattle snake the proper way?????? But that is just my humble opinion.
Glad you found something that works...

If you use glue traps and catching something you don't mean to catch, and the critter is still alive, you can rescue it by coating it with vegetable oil and gently easing it out of the glue. That worked well for us on a small snake we caught once; birds, not so much.
