WAnt To Buy Hospital

Want to buy a hospital? Only $25,000. Roof and floor is bad, but basement okay. The memories can not be taken away. I remember my aunt working there in her polished white shoes and starched cap. Must have been the 40's. The doctor who came out to the country to deliver me in 1936 had an office in there. I wonder if he owned that hospital. We never went to doctors or dentist. Don't know if it was because we were poor or if mama and daddy thought kids didn't need to go. Probably a little of both. However I did go one time but we had to wait so long because the doctor was out, probably delivering a baby. We went home and mama finally got the rash on my hand cleared up. While waiting my mama struck up a conversation with the woman sitting next to her. The woman chose to tell why she was there. Seems one of her children had worms. She took a paper out of her purse and opened it to expose a little worm she had brought to show the doctor with hopes he could prescribe something for her child. When we left she was still waiting. A few years ago I was walking in the local cemetary and ran upon this doctor's grave. The lady who was his right hand nurse I always thought was his wife was not buried next to him and neither was anyone else. I must see if I can research about him and this hospital.

I have to tell you I am squeamish about my health if a woman opened an envelope with a worm in it from a body I would run!

Glad to see you are back in the saddle. Your post reminds me of when I was a kid and all 4 of us kids were infected with pinworms and we had to take swallow these little purple pills that made our poop purple. Only my mom had to gather the evidence (of their eggs, I guess) with scotch tape. Not much fun for her. Plus she had to wash all the sheets etc every day. One of the grocery stores in town used to be a hospital a long time ago and one of our friends refused to shop there for that reason.
