Bright Eyed And Bushy Tailed

Last night John ask me if I was going to get up and go to the ranch with him this morning. He said he would be going about eight. Weeel it depends on how brighteyed and bushytailed I am. I awoke at six, made the bed, washed dishes, and picked up around the house and John was still sawing logs. We did get out early enough to catch the renters in the farm house still sleeping so we didn't disturb them to collect rent. We drove out back to find the girlfriend cows. Girlfriend is still nursing her friend's calf. John thinks the mama's bag (udder) is bad. Isn't that nice to have a friend like that? We went over to John's daughter's place and drove to the back to check the stock tank. It is low but not as low as we though it might be. We saw five or six deer cross in front of us probably going to drink water. All the animals are having to come in closer now for their water and food with the terrible drought here. We went in to visit his daughter and her mother and a neighbor who was visiting them. She showed us a wind up mouse she bought for her cats and told about their antics with it. She built a kitty condo for them so she can control them when she needs to. She sent Susie a package of treats. We made a quick stop at the farmer's house and on home before noon. It was a quiet Saturday morning in the country.

Sounds like you've had a very busy day so far. Me....I got up and went for my morning walk. Got home and made breakfast, then just started messing around on the computer for awhile. It's a nice day here in SoCal.

I got up early myself, then went and got an early haircut. Glad the cow friends are still hanging out. Wish that mama could nurse her own calf. Good for you getting to see all those deer. Hope you get that much needed rain soon. Helen

WAsn't that sweet of her for giving susie some treats??? I use to have this round plastic thing that sat on the floor...it had a ball that went around and around in a deep groove on it when the cat would swat it..My cat LOVED it! I also use to get my cat the felt covered mice with the little tails with catnip in them.
Take care and God Bless,

I know you make the bed, I told Sherry that. I can make the bed now that they make those heavy counterpins and they about fall in place. Of course We always make the bed cause it is in plain sight down the hall, and my girl would be so embarrassed it someone came and it was not made. LOL
Wish you guys could get some rain, I know you all could sure use it. We have been getting more than our share.
enjoyed the entry. Sherry already been here and told me your entry. LOL Jack & Sherry Gotta get her to comment one day.

It's utterly impossible for me to get up bright eyed and bushy tailed. When I do get up, I grab the paper and check the obits. If my name's not there, I make breakfast and finsh the rest of the paper.

That is really good that that mother is letting the little calf nurse. I remember when I was about 9 our cow lost her calf. Daddy bought a little calf at the sale barns. She kicked that little thing in the mouth and refused to nurse it. :( I got the scourers (runs) don't know how to spell ... and died. I was so sad. Sounds like you had a good Saturday. Blessings, Janie
