Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

Hey Folks Its Raining
And we're loving it. Not enough of course but then we are never satisfied when it comes to rain. It has been a slow rain and that is what we need to soak in. I was able to get some Weed and Feed put out on my front yard. Actually was cold enough to put my hoodie up. The air smells so wonderful and fresh. The dust and whatever else was in the air has settled. The wind or something blew the rain gauge into a catty whampus position so I can't tell you the amount but we are so thankful for what ever we got and maybe more to come tonight. Had to get my blankie out last night. It felt so good. Just got my little electric heater out for this room. If I waited until July to put everything away it would still come one more cold (well its cold to us) spell and I would have to get it all out again so thats par for the course. I mixed my hummingbird juice today and filled the feeders and hung them on the porches. It is supposed to be warm again by Sunday and that is their due date here so I'm expecting them. We plan to go to the ranch tomorrow to check the cattle and see how much it rained there. Had to take John to ER a couple of nights ago as his throat was terribly sore and he is very hoarse. We like living right down the street from our hospital. The nurse who cultured his throat used to be our neighbor and the one who checked him in is from his hometown so she teased that he came up there to see if she ever works. The hospital is landscaped pretty and they already have bluebonnets blooming. John has two (count 'em) two indian paintbrushes in his back yard. My redbud tree is blooming pretty. The mesquite trees have leafed out and the old saying here is when they leaf out no more freezes. So I guess spring has sprung and this little cool spell it the last hoo-rah.

We were 80 degrees on Tuesday and today we had sleet and iced trees. Mother Nature is being cruel this year. I sure was enjoying that 80 degree thingy.
Hugs, Joyce
I am so glad you are getting rain, I hope it rains enough to help things. I hope John is feeling better. Did he have strep? Have a great day tomorrow, Sheila
I love rain. I love the way it sounds and the way it smells. Sometimes I complain about it, but I really do love it.

I rushed over here when I saw by your headline it was raining. There is nothing like a much needed rain to put country folks in a good mood. Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush blooming. A nice way to start spring.
That is nice being that close to the hospital and to know someone there. That would make me feel better. Glad you finally got some rain, hope you get more. Let us know if the hummingbirds show up on schedule. How can they tell, I wonder?

I'm so glad you had a nice, soaking rain! We have all kinds of things coming up and blooming here. I saw my first forsythia blooming a few days ago, and that is usually the sign for me that spring is here. Hope John's throat gets better soon.
Glad that John is doing better. Gary has still not completely gotten over the food poisoning. :( Food must have really been bad! I am so ready for spring. We got a little rain like you. Anything was better than nothing. Hope you guys have a great weekend out running about. Janie
Glad you are getting rain. We are getting some too. bad timing for us but I will deal with it.
