A South Texas Summer Prayer

Thank goodness for irrigation systems to water the little peanut plants popping through the ground in our county.
Thank goodness for air conditioning and ceiling fans and the repairmen who keep them running.
Thank goodness for shade trees for the cows to stand under.
Thank goodness for a forecast of coming temps of 90's instead of over 100.
Thank goodness we keep our faith that it will rain again and winter will come again.
Thank goodness we can joke about the high humidity and lack of rain.
Thank goodness for doctors and hospitals who take care of the elderly and ill who can't take the heat.
Thank goodness for fireman who battle the blazes mostly caused by careless people.
Thank goodness for roofers, construction workers etc. who work in the heat to keep our comfort zones content.
And most of all thank you for the water we drink to keep our bodies hydrated.

It is good to be thankful, when some folk think there is nothing to be thankful for!
We are thankful for your Journal/Blog!

YES PAULA, THANKS FOR WHAT WE HAVE.

THANKS FOR THE AVAILABLE ADVICE OF OLDER FOLKS WHOM HAVE LIVED THROUGH TUFF TIMES.

QUITE A LONG TIME BACK WHEN I WAS YOUNG, NEVER OCCURING TO ME TO ASK FOR ADVICE FROM HARD WORKING SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE. WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT COULD HAVE MADE TO HAVE ASKED FOR AND ACTED UPON WORDS GIVEN.

YES, THANKS TO ELDERS GIVING ADVICE WITHOUT BEING OFFENSIVE, SUGGESTING OPTIONS AND STRESSING BEING A NON-CONFORMIST.

THANKS FOR THE MANY YOUNG FOLKS OF TODAY THAT HAVE A DESIRE TO LIVE WITH CHRISTIAN VALUES AND THE DEVIL SLINKING AROUND WITH THE ENTICING DRUMBEAT.

YOUNG FOLKS, TELL THAT DEVIL WHERE TO GO.
