Just pitchin' dog food to the turtles

Someone once told me if they lived out here they would be depressed all time. How can cattle, cactus, and country roads be depressing? This afternoon after supper ( dinner for depressed people lol) I ask John if he wanted to go out and feed the turtles? To my surprise (maybe because we were in my truck, on my gas. lol) he ask do you have some turtle food? Well no but we could stop and buy some dry dog food to pitch into the stock tank so thats what we did. Do turtles even like dog food? A few mornings ago when we were out early there were turtles everywhere eating. Maybe they just like bugs as we didn't see any and John got bored in about thirty minutes and wanted to go home. Oh well I've got my bag of dog food and I'll keep trying. It was hot but it wasn't boring. The birds entertained us diving down to the water to get a sip and back up again. Up by the house we saw our usual two pair of quail. Sad to see they don't have a little trail of babies behind them. They don't seem to lay eggs in the years as dry as this one. This morning John had to be out early to the farm house to meet a man who was going to fix some of the cabinet doors. Renter guy was still home and said he didn't go to work 'cause he had a little too much to drink with his Dad the night before. John said he was already drinking this morning. The wife was at work but was getting off early and they were going to the coast. I hope renter guy was not behind the wheel.

If I was his wife, I'd leave renter guy home to sleep it off and go up the coast myself, lol.

LOL. Our renter-guy is on the road all the time driving his truck. Meanwhile he bought a Harley that costs him $300 a month payment and sits in a corner of Cliff's shop, and he never rides it. Doesn't even have a motorcycle license.

I'm glad somebody in the world besides me knows what supper is.

Yeay!!!! I say "supper" too. It aggravates the Ole boy when he says "Dinner" and I correct him and say "Supper."

Folks are funny about boredom. I have yet to see the place I would be bored with. Ofcourse we no longer stay anywhere long enoughto get bored.
