Silly Seniors

John watches too much TV and sees all the ads for food and restaurants. This morning he got a wild idea to go eat a Grand Slam. Crazy man we don't have a Denny's here. By the time he got me geared up and my cereal had gone down a little we got to Denney's in San Antonio at noon. We found by the menu we could build our own and we did. The wheat hot cakes were good. Since we drove that far we should make the most of it and visit my neice on that side of town, go to our favorite thrift store, or go to the cemetary. We were so stuffed we didn't do anything but drive through the cemetary and see that Mel's flowers were still there. On home for nap time. Yesterday we checked on the turtles. It was a little on the cool side so it took some calling to get them up. They were on the other side of the pond in the direction of the old boat. I'm wondering if they were sleeping under it. After a few calls I could see heads coming toward me as fast as they could but not as many as usual. The weathermen are saying we will have cold and rain about Monday and Tuesday so I got out some winter clothes. Where to put them? I wish I had a whole room for a closet. Can't ever put summer clothes away.

ooooh, Denny's sounds good. I'd have to go clean to Nashville (an hour and a half drive)lol.
I love IHOP too but the same is true of it. My town is just so rural, you have to drive a ways to go anywhere. Sounds like a nice little trip though.

I'm afraid I get hooked by the Grand Slam every once in awhile. Lately, though, it hits me that if we tip the waitress like she deserves, we're paying $20 for breakfast. Good grief, I could cook ten Grand Slams at home for that price! So we haven't been to Denney's in awhile.

We don't have a Grand Slam here I don't think. Good for you feeding the cold sluggish turtles.
I need to sort some clothes also.

Denny's left our area a few years ago. We miss them. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I love Denny's!!!!!

I always have to have eggs with toast and the best part of the meal is the hash browns - they just don't make them like that where I live.

We used to have one 10 mins away - now the closest one we have is over an hour away.

Which in a way is good because I would be there way tooo often if it was still 10 minutes away lol and weigh an extra 50 lbs probably.

Love,

Michelle

Hi Paula,

Wow all that food sounds yummy. We do not have Denny's near me either but I wish we did. Sorry I have not commented for a while I find myself on Facebook mostly, and it seems everyone from Blogger is migrating. Any hoot I just wanted to say Hi and I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I have been slow about commenting on blogs.
I have been cooking, shopping wrapping Christmas presents and doing chores. I am slow at my age. The food sounds wonderful, but nap time also sounds good right now.

I see by your outfit that you are a cowgirl. Running all over looking for a Grand slam. I love denny's pancakes. They are the right consistency for me. I always have the grandslam when I go to Denny's no matter what time it is.
Silly folks.
