We Got 'Em

We got three or four snowflakes this morning or maybe it was fine sleet. Maybe we were just dreaming and wishing. We got a call from the renters at the farm house that they are cold so we went out to take them an electric heater to add to the one they already have. On the way home I could hear tiny pellets hitting the metal truck. The turtles are having to fend for them selves as it is too muddy to drive on the tank dam and I can't get out in the weather to walk down there as I'm on medication for cough and cold. They survived before I knew them and for all I know they are hibernating at least while it is cold. We watched the news from San Antonio at noon. The ctiy is excited about the weather. You people from the north would get a kick out of it all. The city is ready to shut down. People are calling in asking questions. Trucks are already spraying de-icer. I'm not even familiar with that word. Two schools east of us closed at noon. Guess we gotta do with what we get and pretend we get winter just like you do in the north because it may be hot day after tomorrow.

They were calling for about an inch of snow here late tonight and early tomorrow morning. Now they have changed it to a couple of counties below us. I really don't look for any. If so then I will take some pictures. Helen

Funny how we Southerners are about cold weather.
Let the weather man announce a snow and you would think he said a month long blizzard. Rush out and buy bread and milk.

Ya all, come on down to Ne. or Houston. I think Houston is warmer. Thanks Paula for all your encouragement.

I had to read the sentence about the tank dam twice. I'm a bit dyslexic and I read "dam tank".

Your weather sounds a lot like out Tennesse weather (not in the mountains, but middle TN). We are all praying for a good snow this year. It's been a good while since we had a decent one and mostly it's gone the next day. Let the weatherman mention snow and the all the bread and milk in the county is sold out in an hour. I don't know what we are thinking...could we possibly get snowed in???? LOL.
Hugs, Joyce

Sounds like Arizona where you live only not quite that cold. We would die if it ever got that cold! This weather has turned us into a bunch of wimps. It's hard getting no respect for weather hardship but just let them try to live through a month of the temp hovering somewhere around 113 degrees. Then we will find out who is the wimp. Right?

I near break down in hysterics either reading or seeing in the news how inept your southern drivers are so inept to handle ice and/or snow. I remember the days when little winter care was given out northern roads. I remember a snow plow going by when they happened to get around to it and we lived on a 2nd class road (1st class county road).
There was little deicing? sometimes if they had the time and again got around to it some up hill and hill roads were either sanded or cindered by hand. I had even learned to ride my bike in the snow with putting chains on its tires. And, that was when it was an up hill 2 mile ride both ways.
