Memories

This building sits on the edge of John's hometown. It belongs to his sister and brother-in-law. The "Memories" sign advertises an antique/second hand store his sister and her daughter-in-law had several years ago. If you can make out the writing on the end it reads SRS 08. The senior classes of this town in past years and current seniors have an ongoing sign war but they are neat about. One week it may be the current seniors and two weeks later some past senior class will take over. They neatly paint a strip over the old and let it dry then add the new. I think its a healthy way of fighting but not graffitti and not hurting anything or anyone. You notice they don't mar the owners old "Memories" sign even though that store has been closed several years. It is still raining here, everything smells so fresh. We drove all the way to the ranch just to see how much it had rained there. A total of two inches, enough to water the haygrazer well. Much more rain here in town. Water is over the bridge in the park. We checked that out too. You know how farmers and ranchers are. Rain is their everything.

That old building probably has many good memories. Especially to the seniors who paint their year on it. Helen

If that building could talk, I bet it would say plenty.

I can't conceivably think anything of retirement from what? I go to sleep each night thinking about I have to do tomorrow. And if doesn't get done, if I'm lucky I'll be given another one. When a body has nothing to look forward to I believe the soul starts to go or fade out of the individual. With nothing to look forward to either caring, doing, fixing, creating the mind slowly dies. I've got to keep going. That going/doing is my staff of life, my relaxation. These days' I look at each new day as a blessing. Right now I'm looking forward to all the spring time colors coming out about us now and on into summer. May thee be blessed.

Fernan as long as John is retired I'll have plenty of "messes" to clean up and then if I don't want to do that I can wash one of his five vehicles. lol

This is a haunting photograph, you should convert it to black & white. It would be fabulous.

Paula, nice entry. I love, Love, LOVE that sign and the respect of each senior class. There is still some of that respect left in the world, huh?
Glad for your rains, send it north.
