A Little Late

I wanted to post this picture on Easter but couldn't find it. This is our little family on Easter 1962. All matching Easter dresses, lavendar and white checks with white lace. I'm sure someone can tell me the model of the car passing on the street behind us.

Cliff says it's a '58 Oldsmobile.

Forget that girlie stuff, that is a 1957 rocket Oldsmobile passing in the back ground.

Just kidding.
Y'all look good, you are a cute lady. I guess you sewed the dresses from a simplicity pattern.

Any nice, happy times, good memories.

As a matter of fact, I can. It's a Chev. Bel-Air. My Dad had one that was two tone green light over dark. It was a great car. We sold it when we were transfered to Bermuda. The island is so small and the roads were so narrow. They only permited small cars like V W's and such. We were there for 6 years (the longest we lived in one place while in the service) and it wasn't pratical to store it that long.

I also remember having matching outfits as a kid. My mother would make them for my sister and me. And she would make my brothers matching shirts with the same material. It was great! Always made me feel very special.

Great photo!! It looks like a chevy with cat eyes for tail lights, I do not know cars even today. Just a guess.

I know the feeling of missing the "deadline" -- how funny -- some say a Chevy, some say an Olds... I just found some great flower photos I should have posted in April. Lovely photo of your family.

What a lovely family picture!!
My mother used to make matching outfits for the girls, and there is one pic (well before I was born) of the whole family at the time, taken on an Easter Sunday, at a creek near our home. They were on their way home from church and stopped at the creek so Mom could take a photo. There was my brother in a suit, and all the girls that were born at the time, Dee, Midge, and P.J. in their matching dresses with white pinafores and white gloves. And there was the youngest, Lois, in just her panties! lol That was so typical of Lois. As soon as they stopped at the creek, she took off her clothes and started wading. She was only 3 or 4 at the time. That would have been around 1959 or '60.

I'm guessing '58 Olds, but it's defintely not a Chevy. The '57 and '58 Chevy couldn't be mistaken for any other car.

Lovely family photo. Picture perfect. I was never good at identifying cars, but I am sure some other people will know.

What car? All I see is a very lucky gentleman to have three such lovely ladies on his arms.
