Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

Big Baby Calf Noel
Just a post mostly to let you see Noel's picture on my header. It isn't a very good picture but the only one I have and wanted you to see how big he is. He is only 1 1/2 days old in this picture. Shelly Marie is a big cow but we are sure she had some trouble having this one. They are both doing well. Don't know when John is going to turn them out with the herd but in the meantime they are getting plenty of nourishment without having to fight the herd. We had a beautiful spring day today. Summer clothes today and maybe winter in a few days or less. Who knows this is south Texas? Note to Leah if you're lurking--- The cow keychain you gave me came in handy tonight. A lady was counting out rent money to me in the dark for John so I got out my trusty cow keychain and shined the light. It has a good light but the moooo sounds more like an oink and would drive a saint to drink if you had to hear it too long. Thanks Leah, I like it.

I love when calves grow a bit and start kicking up their heels, jumping, and loving life.
That is a big calf and looks very healthy. Happy New Year to you and John and all your pets.
He sure is a pretty thing, big too. Glad that John is keeping them penned for a while. She doesn't need to have to fight for her food or run from other cattle. She needs a lot of strength just to feed Noel. Happy New year to you and John.
Happy New Year Paula & John! Noel is just as handsome as can be. Thanks for sharing a pic of the little bugger.
