Matts

Have you priced a new mattress lately? You almost have to take out a loan to buy one. The lady at the furniture store kept calling them matts. Huh? I said a couple of times. Well (thats a word we use down here not only to get water out of) well after having a crick in my neck for over a week and using Good ole' Bio-Freeze, and John's prescription medicine, and getting a neck and shoulder massage, I still had it. Finally I decided it was "the matt", see I can be "with it" too. My matress was so old it had this big sunk in spot in the middle where my tired body lay. At the end of the hole my neck shot straight up onto my pillow causing an unnatural connection. I bought it this morning and they delivered it free this afternoon and was going to haul off the old one free. What a deal! John waylayed them at the truck and wouldn't let them take the old one. He has been calling around trying to give people my old mattress which he is telling them is a good one. It is clean but good is a matter of opinion. The last person he offered it to said she would have her husband come to get it tomorrow when he gets off work but she was looking a little puzzled as we drove off. Probably wondering why we are getting a new one if that one is sooo good.

i got a new one last year and HATE it. pillow-top. yuck. i slept better on the old-fashioned hard-as-a-slate mattress i replaced. but like you said, with the cost, i didn't want to go out and try to find another one so soon! one of these days i'm going to give in and try again...

Soooo you got a MATT! wow, don't you just love the new buzz words folk come up with. The last 'MATT' we bought came from one of the bargain shops in Charlotte. Ones they make for motels. I sorta liked the idea , thought it might ... oh well.

Glad you got a new Matt. Hope you are MATTier than TEXWISGIRL up there.

I know the fires are not close to you , but they sure are terrible.

Love sent from up here.

My old mattress has a permanent impression of me in the middle of it. It kind of looks like the bed in the movie "Psycho" that Norman Bate's mother slept on (I doubt if anyone remembers what I'm talking about).
Anyway, when a mattress has a permanent indentation, it's high time to get a new one!

We bought a new queen size Matt after Joe went back to work after heart surgery. Even then I thought they were high. We bought a frame instead of a headboard and footboard. We don't turn our Matt like we should because I worry about all the weight Joe is wrestling and he does not want me to help. This has got to last our lifetime.. " Matt", is the sales person to lazy to finish the word. Joe and I were just saying we are way behind the times.

I have noticed the new prices..haa. My daughter bought a new one about a year ago, king size. I was shocked at the price.
I hope you enjoy your new matt. It took me a while to be happy with our new one, some years ago.
Good ole John, sounds just like my hubby. "Someone needs this."

Do you know how much those 'memory foam' mattresses are? There's a reason they don't tell you the price in the commercials.

We have an antique sleigh bed that requires a full sized matt-ress. Needless to say, Bill and I are not tiny folks. We roll nicely together in the middle, forming this spoon shaped hollow where we dream away the night...painfully in the necks too.
The cost of the new ones are outrageous so we opted for new pillows. He sleeps with two and mine is about an inch thick and only 5"X8"s . Whatever works. After all, He HAD to have that new truck~~~~~~~~~~before retirement~ last one!

I have a little indentation where I sleep in my mine, but I don't get comfortable until I find it. It's sort of like sleeping in a nest, I guess. Hope those Texas fires aren't near you! Be safe!

Just to say hi...and how do you like your new matt...hope you can rest on it better than I did for a few days after we got ours...haaa.

But considering the time we spend on them...I'd advise the best affordable.
