Friendly Animals

The cow on my header likes us and poor girl doesn't even rate a name. She comes up to the truck window and I think she would get in if I opened the door. We had a cow like that when we lived on the ranch. I named her Lupe. She would follow me when I went outside. I had to run up the steps and close the back door to keep her from following me into the kitchen. When I fed the turtles there was two ducks swimming in the stock tank so I closed the truck door quietly so as not to scare them. They knew something was going on and watched me feed the turtles. We drove to the back forty to check on the deer-proof fence. They still haven't put up the bottom wire or the top wire but it is very taunt. We saw lots of little piggy feet marks so they are able to squeeze under still until they install the bottom wire. John still can't let his cattle go back there as there is a place where they could get out into heavy brush and that would be a job to get them out of there. John needs to call the fence builder soon and see what the hold-up is. We stopped to talk to New Renter. He seems to like it out there and is very near his job with his brother who is the well man in our area. I'm thinking it is another story with his companion and her four kids. They are all city people and life is very different out there. Quiet and nothing to do exciting in the small town for young people. She has quit her job in San Antonio. Probably didn't like the drive twice a day. Remains to be seen who wins out on this one.

I sure wish that I had cows for neighbors instead of people. I could use the peace and quiet.

I like the cow on your header photo and think she deserves a name.
Cleopatra? Chloe??
Who knows.....

she is a cute cow. :)

i'm guessing if the lady's kids are happy, then she'll stick it out. if not, they'll be moving back to city life soon enough.

Your cow reminds me of Elsie ~ the cow that used to be on the Borden's Milk label.

My husband always wanted to move back to a farm to live not me. Lol. Were we live is not as close to neighbors as some places so we feel like we're not to closed in. Lol. If you could see the yards of our neighbors on the street that turns in to ours you would think we lived at.. (the dump maybe).Take care. Jean

We used to have several cows with sweet eyes and temperment. Yours reminds me of our Nel. She would have come in the house too.
Loved the picture of you at the telephone office. We used to be on a party line when I was a kid and the neighbor girl always listened in.

Nice cow - it does look like the Elsie. Now who is the gal on the right?

If she is a bohunk he will, if she is a bohunk she will. I don't know what will happen if they both are.

Good read. I do hope the renters work out. I cannot blame a person who hates a long commute. I always liked to be close to my work.
Good read as always.

LOve ya!
