We've Been Invaded By Butterflies

They aren't as pretty as this one. They are all the same dull color. Kind of tanish brown and very small. My radiator is full of them, they are mashed on my windshield so hard they won't wash off without a lot of elbow grease. The whole herd seems to be flying east when I am driving west and vice-versa. John says they will lay eggs and then turn into worms that will eat the grass which the cows need to eat. You did want to know that, didn't you? Just to let you know I'm still here. John is all bandaged up from skin cancer on his nose and ear. All that plowing in the sun in years past when we didn't have sunscreen and air conditioned tractors. We haven't been to the ranch or out to see anything to write about.

well, they probably will eat something green when they're larvae. sorry about john's surgery. i do hope they've gotten the cells and can control it well.

I was going to say don't go to the Ranch, but it is too late for that now.

I can imagine the sun in Texas at times is pretty unmercyful.
Quit killing 'em butterflies!!!!

Might be snout-nose butterflies we get them too but haven't had them yet this year!! They do make a mess! Not as bad as love bugs though, those things are nasty!

I love butterflies...but not necessarily on my windshield.
Hope John heals nicely.

Sorry to hear about John! Tell him I hope he feels (and gets) better. We have the lovebugs in Florida and they're a pain.

Hope John heals quickly and the butterflies are gone soon with minimal damage. I'm glad I haven't seen any love bugs here, I got enough of them in Alabama. Take care, Sheila

Prayers for recovery quick for John. I will be thinking of you two as you travel about the ranch once John is feeling better. Until then, stay on the cool side, but then, you two are already pretty 'cool' folks.

I am so happy that he got that cancer off when he did, Skin cancer can be deadly. We have had 2 freezes so I think our butterflies are gone. You take care of yourself and John, if he will let you. Joe has been a bear, but I think I found a way to deal with it. After 44 years I wasted figuring out how.

The bear nearly got loose. He started in and I said, "I will not go there" and walked away.

As someone else wrote, definitely reminds me of the love bugs we get here in Florida - ick! Glad to know you are ok. I would have been worried if I had checked in sooner. Sending thoughts and prayers for John too. Tell him we all hope he is better soon!

I'm sorry he's all bandaged up, but yet I'm grateful that they can remove the skin cancer and that all he's left with are bandages!

I pray John is doing okay and they got all those nasty cancer cells out of there. Best wishes to the both of you and pray you're both out there chasing cows soon!

... and butterflies!!!!

Is John healing well? He probably should not have waited so long. I should talk. I had cancer taken off my nose quite a while back and I need to have it checked. There is a good possibility it is coming back.
