Doesn't Every One Get Free Calendars?

It surprised me that several people questioned the fact that I get free calendars. The feed store gave John three and they are nice for our way of life. Lots of country pictures, horses, cows, and cowboys. I picked up two at a bank where I went to deposit $5.00 so they wouldn't withdraw $ 5.00 as an inactivity fee. If they do that they could afford to give me a calendar or two. The young teller talked to someone and it was refunded. John's stock broker's secretary ask me for the birthdates of his grandchildren so they can make him a surprise personal calendar. John's sister from Alaska always sends him a calendar with moose. There goes that word again. I always want to say meese or mooses. I know that isn't correct but that is what I want to say. I might add I think they are the ugliest animal so I put that calendar in his bedroom. One year I couldn't believe we didn't get not one calendar. I thought the jig was up, no more free calendars but then the next year we got one for every room except the living room and the bathroom just the way I like. It almost killed me to pay  $5.00 for a calendar. So how much do you people who don't get free calendars pay?

I stop by the Credit Union last week to see if they had the new calendars‘. She told me they would have them after the first. Sheila wanted me to get her two I get one for us, but half the time we forget to change months on it. lol. Take care. Jean

I'm surprised that you can still get free calendars. I haven't seen any in a long time. My parents always used to get them when I was a kid.

We get them free from our State Farm Insurance.

We have room to hang one. It is a calendar about mothers given to Sherry by one of the boys. I use one sent in the mail that folds up and the one on the computer.
In business I always gave calendars, each month had a different house plan we built.
I'm with you on Moose & Meeses. HA! Hung it in John's room huh?
Great entry!!

I try not to pay more than a dollar for a fair sized one. I could not believe my eyes when I saw them at Shopko for 10.00 and 15.00. In answer to your question on the blog YES, anything that is wrong, I did it>

Yes, we get free calendars from the bank. They're a nice size with pretty pics and I use mine to write down all our various appointments. Then of course I get a ton of those little dinky ones that aren't big enough to write anything on. Or the magnetic ones that you can't even write on. Those immediately go into the trash. I just look down in the bottom right-hand corner of my computer or on my cell phone home page to get the date. My mother always seems to get several calendars as Christmas gifts. I tell her just to regift them to someone else. She thinks that they have to be left out so the giver can see that you're using them when they come to visit. I can't convince her that by the time they come to visit they don't even remember what kind of calendar they got her, or even if they did get her a calendar! She's got knick-knacks that have been sitting out for 10 or 15 years because she's afraid to put them away (I'd throw them away!) for fear that whoever gave them to her will come by and see they she's not displaying their dusty old knick-knack! I'd better stop now before this gets out of hand.

We get freebies from the Credit Union, come think bout it, didn't see them out yet. Also from the Park Pharmacy where we spent way too much money on prescriptions...gads.
I keep one, give the rest to the kids, but first write everyones birthday and anniv. in the right place. I even put the age, etc. and appt.'s. The most I ever paid was a buck.
About that German heritage...Jack is right, it runs strong up here by Mel, Cher and me and we do love our sweets and meats.
Blessings

I "donate" $50 for my Buddhist calendar, but considering it goes toward helping monks in Tibet, I think it is a pretty good deal. I get various free calendars in the mail(from charities I donate to during the year) & usually give them out at the food pantry. ~Mary
