Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

Scary Mishap
we were on the road to buy feed before eight this morning just as if we had to punch a timeclock. I don't know why we have to go to another town to buy feed. I would patronize the businesses in my area if it was up to me. Pay a little more but when you consider the wear and tear and gasoline and the stress of all the oil field traffic. The road we travel is paved but only one lane each way with just a small shoulder. Right out of our town we were meeting several trucks and cars traveling close together. As we met a truck pulling the type of trailer that carries liquid, the liquid began to spill all over the road way so a guy on a motocycle tried to pass to avoid the spill and lost control but stayed on the bike as John could see in his rear view mirror. I didn't see that as I was trying to see where the liquid was coming from and where a lot of smoke was coming from. John said the smoke was from a truck's brakes. All in a second's time. We kept going as there was too much traffic and nowhere to stop. Enough young truck drivers to take care of it. Loaded with feed we didn't come back that way as I'm sure there was lots of traffic backed up. A spill to be cleaned up, maybe an ambulance. Hope the biker wasn't seriously hurt. Maybe we will find out more in the paper Wednesday.

Phew - so what is John's reasoning to go out of town in that traffic to get feed? Sandie
I guess old habits are hard to break. Doing business with the same folk.
Hope the biker wasn't hurt, but the roads are dangerous, that is for danged sure.
Love from over and up here. We still do not have real warm weather yet...
((HUGS))
Chatty (Sandie) if you knew John you would know he will drive a mile to save a penny or if he thinks he is saving a penny. lol
yikes!
(glad you saw the whistlers today!)
So glad you weren't involved!
You were lucky to avoid both the accident and the spill.
Did you ever find out what was spilling all over tarnation? Hope no one was hurt.
And look at that JosieGirl...she is a cute lil whiteface. So far she seems to be faring quite well.
Her Mama will teach her all about grazing in due time...

would you believe I am in trouble because my husband didn't think we needed the air on when we hit 90 early in the day. Hope the biker is ok. Men!!!
I'm with you on this....the convenience of buying local would far outweigh the price of buying from a cheaper place that I had to travel to....unless you are talking hundreds of dollars. Just be careful on that road...sounds like angels were watching over you at that moment!
