Horse mint
This is what John tells me this plant is. The bees make honey from it and there were lots of tiny bees buzzing around it.We were able to drive around some even though there is still water in the dry creek bed. We saw one jack rabbit and several roadrunners. Didn't have time to call up the turtles. It got hot this afternoon but a gentle breeze felt good on the sweaty shirts.

yes, also known as beebalm (lemon beebalm, i just read). they do love it.
Never heard of Horse Mint or Beebalm. I would have to avoid it because I'm allergic to bees. Bet those roadrunners were cute, just like the cartoon, right?
Interesting to be seeing this. Would be nice to see a roadrunner too. I haven't seen one in the flesh yet. :P
Always fun to picture the roadrunners...too quick to get a picture! Have not heard of the weed, but have seen it, I think along the roads.
I loved seeing the few road runners we saw in Big Bend country. They are neat...
