Among The Cows

It turned out to be a beautiful day so we went out to John's daughter's to walk among the cows. Some of them were his cows that he gave to her on his retiring. They came right up to greet us and sniffed us. I petted some of them but could only remember one by name and that was Ginger. We checked out a young bull John bought from his son and gave to his daughter. Once a cowperson, always a cowperson.

I love your cow stories. I can imagine them sniffing. Animals do a lot of identifications with scent.. I read once their sniff memory goes higher than Our visual memory.
Glad at least you got to see Ginger, & remember.
That is probably to John like me going to the lumber yard to smell lumber. LOL

I like cow people! Love cows - might be afraid of them up close tho.

I enjoy watching cows in a field. When our dog was alive she would bark at the young cattle where we walked and they would come running up to the fence and line up to stare at her. The man keeps a few cows and their calves in the field next to ours has almost certainly taken away their calves. I have gone to sleep with bellowing cows and woken up to bellowing cows for two days now, but I notice this afternoon they are quiet. Thankfully.
